What prompted you to run for the board?
Several citizens asked me to run, and I enjoy being of service to my community.
What skills and experience do you bring to the board?
I am a native of Arvada, which has given me a good feeling of the history and direction that our community has been going in. I have had experience in many recreation venues.
What are your goals for the current board term?
Resolve the maintenance issues facing Apex.
What makes Apex better than other recreation agencies?
The staff is the best that can be found anywhere. We have some of the top facilities in the country.

Occupation: Kibby has been Director of Arvada Hockey Association for 9 years and is the owner/director of Kibby’s Power Play Unlimited Summer Hockey Schools.
What prompted you to run for the board?
I really wanted to be part of the community my wife and I live in and are raising our children in. Giving time and energy back to the community in some way is very important to my family.
What skills and experience do you bring to the board?
A diverse background in recreation and business, as well as having a young family with many interests in our community, lend to what I think is a well versed board member.
What are your goals for your current board term?
Continue offering strong programs with diversity for all interests in our community as well executing long terms goals for future generations.
What makes Apex better than other recreation agencies?
An overwhelming sense of community and desire to provide great programs and services for all. Not to mention our professional and dedicated staff.

Occupation: He is the managing director for an Arvada communications company.
What prompted you to run for the board?
I felt I had the skills and experience at this point in time to help the district through what I think is a fairly critical point in its lifetime.
What skills and experience do you bring to the board?
I have good technical and business skills and experience. I like to build projects and work together with people to make things thrive and succeed. Being a participant on Vision 2020, I helped set the future priorities of the district. My family and I are users of district programs and facilities, and I worked for the district’s parks department as a teenager.
What are your goals for your current board term?
My goals are to help the district:
- Approve the annual budget
- Build a new Garrison Street facility
- Install new irrigation at Stenger
- Install a lightning warning system at Stenger, Long Lake and Lutz
- Find a home or turf field for the lacrosse program
- Help continue to modernize the district’s technology infrastructure at a minimum cost
- Continue to improve our relationship with the City of Arvada and share services with them for the betterment of the community.
What makes Apex stand out from other agencies?
The staff at Apex are what makes it a great organization to be associated with.

What prompted you to run for the board?
We recently lost about 50-plus years of experience on the board, so I felt that from an experience standpoint we needed to fill some of those vacancies with someone who has been in the district and worked with the board members who are staying, in order to keep some continuity.
What skills and experience do you bring to the board?
Membership on the Apex Foundation board of directors, chair of bond issue groups in 1998 and 2003. Being as involved as I have been over the last eight-plus years, I know the issues that the board has had to work with from a financial and management standpoint.
What are your goals for your current board term?
To move forward with the renovation and repair of Apex facilities, making them more inviting places with increased numbers of patrons; and to work toward more effective and productive relationships with other area government entities.
What makes Apex better than other recreation agencies?
The district’s unique combination of programs and activities, presented by an enthusiastic and skilled staff.

What prompted you to run for the board?
I ran for the board to give back my services to a district that has been so beneficial for my family. I also wanted to have a part in ensuring the quality of facilities and programs continues.
What skills and experience do you bring to the board?
I have over 15 years’ experience working with and on not-for-profit boards. This experience includes budgeting, strategic planning, marketing and fund-raising.
What are your goals for your current board term?
To develop and implement a plan for the future which includes securing funding for ongoing operations as well as future improvements.
What makes Apex better than other recreation agencies?
The commitment of the people involved in the district - from staff to volunteers to concerned citizens.
