How do I find out if I am an Apex resident?

Apex Park and Recreation District’s boundaries fall approximately within 52nd Avenue on the south, Highway 93 on the west, Sheridan Boulevard on the east, and the Boulder/Broomfield county line on the north. However, there are a few areas within these boundaries that are not part of the district, and also a few areas outside of these boundaries that are part of the district. There are two ways to confirm residency: 1) Check your most recent property tax statement. If it shows an assessment for Apex Park and Rec, NJP&RD or Apex Park & Rec Dist, you are a resident. 2) Visit the Residency Information page for instructions on how to determine your residency status online.

I live in Jefferson County but not in Apex Park and Recreation District. Do I get a discount?

The district is a separate agency, not part of the county or the City of Arvada. Only Apex Park and Recreation District residents are eligible for the discount.

I sometimes hear Apex Park and Recreation District referred to as North Jeffco Park and Recreation District. Are these two organizations one and the same?

Yes — the district changed its name from North Jeffco Park and Recreation District to Apex Park and Recreation District in 2008 to help reduce confusion with Jefferson County, and to better identify Apex Park and Recreation District as a recreation provider.

Are Apex facilities open to the public?

Yes, anyone can participate in any activity, regardless of residency status. Apex Park and Recreation District is a public agency and there are no membership fees. However, because about 33% of Apex’s revenues come from property taxes, district residents receive a discount on all fees and activities. Many facilities offer annual, seasonal or multiple-visit passes – another option to make activities more affordable.

How often are the activities guides published? Where can I get one?

The guides are issued three times a year. The winter/spring guide is distributed in mid-November for January through Memorial Day activities; the summer guide, in early April for Memorial Day through Labor Day activities; and the fall guide, in mid-August for Labor Day through December activities.

They are mailed to everyone in zip codes 80002, 80003, 80004, 80005 and 8007, and about 2200 Apex residents in zip code 80403. They’re also distributed to every Apex facility, all Jefferson County libraries, Arvada City Hall and selected area businesses.

The Community Recreation Center also publishes the Slate, containing expanded program information for adult and senior programs. The Slate is available at the CRC and the Apex Center.

The district also publishes a biannual newsletter in the spring and fall, with the same distribution as the activities guide.

What are the fees and other details on children’s birthday parties at the Apex Center?

For complete rental and party information, visit the Rentals and Groups page.

How do I reserve a park for an event?

The City of Arvada handles all park reservations, including the gazebo at North Jeffco Park, 9101 Ralston Road. For information or to make a reservation, call 720-898-7400 or visit www.arvada.org.

How do I get information on my specific area of interest?

There are several ways to do this. You can do a search by keyword – for example, type in “pottery” or “swimming” to see the program offering. Or, you can browse by activity to see the specific classes offered; just sign in as a guest. You can also go to the “activity” tab to see the different programs we offer.

Be sure to check out the news, events and calendar section at the bottom of each page!

I need detailed driving directions to an Apex Facility.

Maps can be found by clicking on the address below the facility name on each of the individual facility pages.

Several facilities offer multi-use, seasonal or annual passes. Can they be used at other facilities?

In most cases, no. However, summer or multi-visit swim passes can be used at Lake Arbor, Secrest and Meyers Pools (not the Apex Center). There’s also a special summer swim pass that has 20 punches, with 5 of those 20 punches designated for use at the Apex Center.

In addition, Apex Park and Recreation District offers an “All-Access Pass” for a fee that’s slightly higher than an Apex Center pass. For more info on the All-Access Pass, click here.

Why are resident ID cards only available at the Apex Center and Garrison Street centers?

Only these two centers are equipped with the camera that’s used for the photo ID. However, you can renew your card at the Apex Center, Garrison, the Community Recreation Center, Meyers Pool, the Racquetball and Fitness Center, and Indian Tree Golf Course.
