Qualification Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, experience and/or ability required.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Must be USSF certified or obtain a USSF certification within 3 months of hire.
MATERIALS REFEREE MUST OWN:
Referee shirt/attire, whistle, red/yellow card, watch, flags (if necessary).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to run, walk, stand, bend, hear, and talk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple to complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or group situations while speaking to participants and other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to problem solve while remaining impartial and objective.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work under pressure and independently or as part of a team unit.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee will be exposed to indoor and/or outdoor work environments. While performing duties of this job, the employee may be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and extreme heat/cold. The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to high.
Job Summary: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include, but not limited to the following:
-Must have full knowledge and understanding of all rules/policies/procedures/codes of conduct for indoor and/or outdoor soccer.
-Maintains control of game, players, coaches, spectators - safety is the first priority of participants.
-Referee, at all times, remains impartial and unbiased.
-Referee shall be positive role model by treating all participants fairly and with respect.
-Help maintain a fun and safe environment in which to play.
-Demonstrates ability to be courteous and assertive.
-Will always put player safety and health first by dealing aggressively with unsafe situations or inappropriate behavior by the participants (players, coaches, spectators).
-Referee shall always comply with the proper code of conduct and maintain a positive attitude toward the game and its participants.
-Keep pace with the game by moving with the play.
-Must arrive 15 minutes prior to start of game and will be ready to begin game on time.
