Reports To: Recreation Supervisor Adult and Senior Division

Fair Labor Standards Act: ___X_____ Exempt ___ ____ Non-Exempt

Salary: $38,000

The district has an opening for a Recreation Coordinator – Art/Adult Education/Special Events at the Community Recreation Center. This position has primary authority and responsibility for the programming in the areas of arts, education and special events for the Adult and Senior Division, primarily at the Community Recreation Center and Leisure Arts Center. The specific duties include:

· Coordinate art, craft, music, cooking and educational classes for adults and seniors

· Coordinate special events and socials for the Community Recreation Center

· Coordinate of the District’s outdoor concert and children’s performance series

· Coordinate Community Recreation Center’s art shows

· Oversees kitchen and food preparation

· Write and administer grants in area of responsibility

· Supervise staff and volunteers in area of responsibility

· Oversee budget in area of responsibility

· Promote activities and classes.

Job qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration or a related field and a minimum of two years experience in recreation programming. Solid knowledge of recreational programming, scheduling and meal planning and preparation. Good written and verbal communications. Ability to effectively use recreational and general office software.
